How to play Anime Grid
Fill in a 3x3 grid with anime or characters that meet two criteria at once (studio, decade, genre, demographic...) and score more points the less obvious your pick.
Fill in the 3x3 grid: each square needs an anime that meets both its row and its column criteria. The same anime can't be used in two squares.
Each criterion is checked separately: the anime has to meet both.
Every guess, right or wrong, uses one up. The less obvious the anime, the more rarity points (10–100 per square).
Each square shows how many valid answers it has (not which ones). On Easy and Normal, once per game, you can “Change criterion” on an empty square: its row (or column) gets a different criterion for that square only, with at least 5 unused answers. It doesn't cost a guess, but you lose the 👑 crown.
Challenges reset every day at midnight, Spain time (CET/CEST).
Difficulty levels
Easy:
12 guesses and 3 wildcards that fill a square for you (no rarity points). If you miss a square, we give you a hint: a character from an anime that fits there and, after a second miss, the initials of its title. A correct answer after a hint scores half the points. Once per game, you can “Change criterion” on an empty square.
Normal:
9 guesses, no wildcards. Once per game, you can “Change criterion” on an empty square.
Hard:
9 guesses, no wildcards or “Change criterion”. Suggestions from the 3rd letter and no photos.
