This legal notice governs the use of MovieRoyale. By using the site you accept these terms, so we recommend reading them.

1. Who is behind MovieRoyale

In accordance with article 10 of Spanish Law 34/2002 on information society services and electronic commerce (LSSI-CE), these are the details of the owner of the site:

MovieRoyale is a personal project, not a company. To cover its costs, the site shows Google AdSense ads.

2. What MovieRoyale is

MovieRoyale is a free website of daily movie, TV and anime minigames. New challenges are published every day and can be played without signing up and without paying.

The site is funded by Google AdSense ads. Advertising cookies are only set if you give your consent; we explain this in the cookie policy.

Your progress and streaks are saved only in your browser. The site has no user accounts.

3. Terms of use

You can use MovieRoyale freely to play and share your results. In return, we ask you to use it responsibly and lawfully. In particular, you may not:

  • Try to damage, overload or interfere with the site, or access parts of it that are not public.
  • Access the site or its APIs in an automated, large-scale way (for example, with bots to get the answers or copy the data).
  • Use the forms to send spam, advertising or unlawful or offensive content, or content that infringes other people's rights.
  • Copy or reuse the site's design, code or original texts beyond what the law allows.

The games are entertainment. Results, streaks and scores have no value outside the site.

4. Liability

The game data (casts, dates, box office figures, awards, episodes…) comes from external sources and is carefully reviewed, but it may contain errors. If you spot one, you can let us know through the “Spotted an error?” link in each game and we'll fix it as soon as possible.

We try to keep the site running at all times, but we can't guarantee that it will always be available or free of faults. The owner may change, add or remove games and content, or interrupt the service, without prior notice.

The owner is not liable for any damage resulting from using the site in breach of these terms.

5. Links to other websites

MovieRoyale links to other websites, such as TMDB, AniList, Wikipedia or Creative Commons, to show where the data comes from. Ads may also lead to third-party websites: they are chosen by Google, not by the owner. The owner does not control those websites and is not responsible for their content or their privacy policies. If you find that a link leads to unlawful content, write to us and we'll remove it.

6. Intellectual property

The site's design, logo, code and original texts (such as the game explanations, hints and synopses written for MovieRoyale) belong to the owner.

The titles, names, data and images of movies, series and anime (such as posters and photos) belong to their respective owners, such as production companies, distributors or studios. MovieRoyale shows them for information and game purposes only, and obtains them from these sources:

  • TMDB (The Movie Database): data and images of movies, series, actors and anime, through its API. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
  • Wikidata: additional data (for example, places of birth, awards and box office figures), under the CC0 license.
  • Wikipedia: Goya Award nominations and wins, under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.
  • AniList: data about anime and their characters, through its API.

If you own any content and believe its use on MovieRoyale is not appropriate, write to us and we'll review or remove it.

7. Data protection and cookies

How we handle the data you send through the forms and advertising data is explained in the privacy policy, and which cookies and data are stored in your browser, in the cookie policy.

8. Applicable law and jurisdiction

This legal notice is governed by Spanish law. Any dispute will be submitted to the courts of A Coruña (Spain), unless the law provides otherwise; in particular, if you are a consumer, you may go to the courts of your place of residence.

9. Changes to this notice

We may update this legal notice when the site or the law changes. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page.
